Steve McClaren expects tough test against Brighton & Hove Albion

Derby County head coach Steve McClaren believes that his side will face a tough test against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship playoffs.

Derby County head coach Steve McClaren has predicted that his side will face a tough test against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship playoffs.

The Rams beat Oscar Garcia's side twice during the regular league season, with the latest success being a 1-0 victory in January.

However, McClaren believes that those results will count for nothing when the sides meet later this week.

"They will be tough, difficult games. Brighton are strong at home and good away," he told the Derby Telegraph.

"What a performance and result it was for them at Nottingham Forest on Saturday to get in the playoffs. They must be on an emotional high right now. They will be buzzing and so we have to make sure we take that into account.

"We are on a good run but it is about what happens on the day."

The first leg will take place at the Amex Stadium on Thursday evening.
