Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has apologised after entering into a "lively discussion" with a supporter after the club's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Palace had the chance to snatch a rare victory with a late penalty, but Belgian striker Christian Benteke's tame effort was saved by Cherries goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Midfielder Luka Milivojevic had tucked away an earlier penalty, and it was Benteke's miss that was the subject of Parish's heated debate.
"I would like to apologise to the supporters in the Wright and Bright lounge who witnessed the lively discussion between me and a supporter," Parish tweeted.
"I didn't appreciate what he shouted at me but I should not have reacted, it was the heat of the moment just after the missed pen and I apologise to him also."
The Eagles were further frustrated by other results on Saturday that saw fellow strugglers West Ham United and Swansea City pick up wins against Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
