Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has emerged as a summer transfer target for Southampton, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has spent the season on loan with Middlesbrough, where has has scored 19 goals and received the Championship Player of the Year award.
Reports suggest that Chelsea may be willing to let Bamford join a Premier League side on loan next season, but Southampton are ready to make a permanent offer, according to ESPN.
Bamford, who started his career at Nottingham Forest before making the move to Stamford Bridge in 2012, has won two caps for the England Under-21 side.
