Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly refused to give manager Jose Mourinho money to buy a new striker in the January transfer window.
The Blues' current forward trio Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba have failed to go on a prolific run in front of goal, sparking rumours of possible transfer activity.
Mourinho, himself, recently stated that he would stick with his current crop of forwards, despite their form.
However, it has now emerged that billionaire owner Abramovich is unwilling to give the funds for a new attacking player in the winter window, according to The Express.
The West London outfit are currently third in the Premier League table.
