Barcelona are reportedly continuing to go through the formalities of agreeing a new long-term contract with Gavi.
Despite being just 17 years of age, Gavi is a key man at the Catalan giants, already making a total of 16 starts and five substitute appearances in all competitions this season.
With the teenager's contract possessing a €50m (£42.69m) release clause and running until 2023, the player is theoretically within the reaches of many top European clubs.
However, Gavi only wants to stay at Camp Nou, and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that positive negotiations continue to take place behind the scenes.
Romano says that an agreement is "only a matter of time", while the current release clause will be removed and likely substantially increased.
Liverpool and Chelsea have been among the clubs who have been monitoring the situation.
