Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is reportedly edging towards staying on at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, rather than finding a new club in January.

Gary Cahill will reportedly stay on at Chelsea beyond January in the hope of landing another Premier League title, despite his limited playing time this season.

The English centre-back conceded earlier in the campaign that he would possibly have to quit Stamford Bridge in the New Year if he is to play more regularly.

Cahill has been used just three times since Maurizio Sarri arrived in the summer, including once from the bench in the Premier League.

West Ham United and Galatasaray are understood to be keeping tabs on the situation but, according to The Sun, Cahill will now wait until the end of the campaign before making a decision on his future.

The 32-year-old, whose contract expires in June, is said to be confident of being given further chances to impress as the season goes on.
