Chelsea have reportedly enquired about the availability of Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
With Ben Chilwell having been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, head coach Thomas Tuchel has been keen to find a short-term replacement at left wing-back.
The Blues have failed to reach an agreement with Lyon over the recall of Emerson Palmieri, while other short-term possibilities have not been pursued.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, however, the Premier League giants have asked whether signing Sandro before the end of January is a realistic option.
The 31-year-old is a key member of Massimiliano Allegri's first-team squad in Turin, the Brazil international having made 27 appearances in all competitions this season.
As it stands, Juventus are unlikely to consider any proposal without finding a replacement, although it cannot be ruled out with Sandro having less than 18 months remaining on his contract.
