Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that his side will probably need to win all of their remaining matches if they are to stand any chance of finishing in the top four this season.
The Blues currently sit fifth in the Premier League table with five points separating them from fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, but victory over fellow Champions League hopefuls Liverpool this afternoon would see that gap close to two.
Chelsea's final two games of the season then come against Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United, and Conte is targeting maximum points to give his side the best possible chance of sneaking into the top four.
"We know we must try to win every match now until the end of the season if we want to have a chance of fighting for a place in the top four on the last day," he wrote in his programme notes ahead of the clash with Liverpool.
"Last weekend, against Swansea, we scored an early goal to take the lead but after that we could not add another goal, even though we created a lot of chances. It is important we are more clinical in these situations so we can make sure we do not drop points in games we have worked hard to dominate.
"It is important we finish this season in the best possible way and try to give the supporters some satisfaction, some happiness and that is what we will fight to do."
Chelsea also still have the FA Cup final against Manchester United to play this season.
