Andre Villas-Boas: 'Draw suits Chelsea more than Tottenham Hotspur'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that the 1-1 draw with Chelsea suits the Stamford Bridge side more than his team.

Andre Villas-Boas has said that the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane this afternoon suits Chelsea more than Tottenham Hotspur.

Gylfi Sigurdsson gave hosts Spurs the lead less than 20 minutes in, before John Terry netted a second-half equaliser.

The Tottenham manager told BT Sport: "I think [the result was fair]. The second half was not as good as we wanted. They did well to score from the set piece.

"Both teams had good chances, the chances were spread. We had a good opportunity for 2-0 just before half time, that would have been the killer.

"Always they were a threat on the counter-attack to score and they did. The result suits them better than us, but it was a very tight game."

The result has lifted Tottenham to the top of the table ahead of this afternoon's Premier League games.
