John Terry warns of Didier Drogba "nightmare"

Chelsea captain John Terry says that 36-year-old Didier Drogba will still be a menace to Premier League defences this season.

John Terry has warned Chelsea's Premier League rivals that Didier Drogba remains as lethal as ever despite his advancing years.

Manager Jose Mourinho opted to re-sign the legendary striker on a one-year deal after his contract with Galatasaray expired this summer.

Drogba, now 36, struck 157 goals throughout a highly successful eight-year spell at Stamford Bridge, and Terry says that the veteran will still prove a "nightmare" for England's elite.

"Didier's still the same. He's been a nightmare to play against in training. He's still physically strong, sharp and hungry as well," he told Chelsea's official website.

"It's important Didier is here because he brings that mentality of wanting to win every day and that rubs off on people like [centre-back] Kurt Zouma and the other young players he's playing against."

Chelsea kick off their 2014-15 campaign with a visit to newly-promoted Burnley on August 18.
