Assistant coach Roberto Di Matteo was pleased with Chelsea's performance in their 4-0 FA Cup third round win against Portsmouth.
Goals from Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and a brace from Ramires secured the Stamford Bridge club a fourth-round tie against MK Dons or Queens Park Rangers.
"I thought it was a very good all-round performance," said Di Matteo.
"Portsmouth made it very hard, especially in the first 45 minutes, and it is always difficult to break an opponent down and find a space with so many players.
"It was just a matter of scoring the first goal and we were always confident we were going to be able to do that."
The Blues resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday at home to Sunderland.
