Spain coach Vicente del Bosque reveals that there is simply no room for Juan Mata in the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has revealed that Juan Mata was left out of the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers because there was simply no room for him.

The Chelsea winger was surprisingly omitted from the 23-man party for the matches against Belarus and France when it was announced on Friday.

"We could not find him a place," Del Bosque explained.

"We have enough players for the games. We have chosen those that we think are the best to compete in these matches."

The world and European champions edged out Georgia 1-0 in their opening match of the qualifying campaign last month.
