Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is reportedly still pocketing his £75,000 weekly wages from the club despite being sacked a month ago.
The 42-year-old was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge in January and swiftly replaced by Thomas Tuchel, who has made a fast start to life in the Chelsea dugout.
Lampard was previously linked with the managerial vacancy at Bournemouth, but while he is out of the game, The Sun reports that Chelsea are continuing to fork out his staggering wages.
The report claims that Chelsea are keeping Lampard on the payroll in order to mitigate a sizeable compensation which other ex-managers have received down the years, and the former England midfielder will pocket £1.8m before the agreement ceases in July.
However, should Lampard return to the hotseat before the 2020-21 campaign concludes, Chelsea's payments to their former manager would reportedly stop.
Under Tuchel, Chelsea have risen to fifth in the Premier League table and boast four wins and a draw in all competitions since the former Paris Saint-Germain manager took over.
