Chelsea's new owners are reportedly in discussions to complete a takeover of Portuguese side Portimonense.
Todd Boehly has previously spoken about his desire to follow in the footsteps of Manchester City and Red Bull football group by building a multi-club model.
While they have failed in their attempts to buy French club Sochaux and Brazilian giants Santos, Boehly and his fellow owners are keen to purchase a Portuguese side.
According to the Daily Mail, the ownership group are in talks to buy Portimonense, who occupy fourth place in the Primeira Liga.
Clubs in other countries are also being considered for future takeovers, with Belgium and France identified as ideal locations.
There is also a desire to purchase a team in Brazil, despite failing to buy Santos, as Chelsea look to get around potential work permit issues by sending players to South America in a bid to meet the qualification criteria.
