Doctor Eva Carneiro facing Chelsea axe from Jose Mourinho?

Jose Mourinho reportedly decides that Eva Carneiro will no longer attend first-team matches and training sessions following his criticism of the doctor at the weekend.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly altered Eva Carneiro's role at the club in the wake of his recent criticism of the doctor.

Following the weekend's 2-2 draw with Swansea City at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho accused Carneiro of not understanding the game after she had treated Eden Hazard during stoppage time.

With his side already down to 10 men after the dismissal of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, the Chelsea boss was particularly critical of the fact that he was left with just eight outfield players on the pitch due to the fact that Hazard had to head to the touchline before he could return to the action.

Since Mourinho's outburst, Carneiro has received plenty of support on social networking sites, for which she issued her thanks yesterday afternoon.

However, according to The Telegraph, that is not the end of the issue, with Mourinho having since informed the 41-year-old that she will no longer have a place on the bench on matchdays and she will also not attend training sessions, games or enter the team hotel.

However, the report adds that Carneiro will continue in her role as the first-team doctor at the club's Cobham training base.

Carnerio was promoted to the position by former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas in 2011.
