Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has backed Radamel Falcao to be a success at Stamford Bridge this term.
The Colombian international, who joined on a season-long loan deal from Monaco, endured a miserable time at Manchester United last term, scoring just four times for the Red Devils.
However, Cahill feels that Falcao will re-establish himself as one of the game's elite strikers under Jose Mourinho next term.
Cahill told Sky Sports News: "He's a top player. He's experienced, and he has proven it and last year, I'm sure he'll tell you it didn't go as well as he would have liked, but you don't turn into a bad player overnight.
"He's done it at the top level and he's a top player. This is an easy group to come into and I said earlier the calibre of player that comes into this club is top drawer and he's in that bracket.
"Hopefully he can hit the ground running and score plenty of goals for us which he's more than capable of doing."
Chelsea begin their defence of the title against Swansea City next week.
