Rafael Benitez believes that midfielder Frank Lampard will become Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer before the end of the season.

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez believes that Frank Lampard will become the club's all-time top goalscorer before the end of the season.

Lampard is currently on 200 goals, just two behind Bobby Tambling, who scored 202 goals for the club between 1959 and 1970.

"I would like to see Frank breaking the record, for sure," said Benitez.

"If I pick him, it's because he's a good player. I'm sure he will score goals. If he can score more than two, he'll break the record. He'll be happy and we will be too. I think he will do it.

"Obviously, some players you have to keep an eye on them, if you can do something. But the main thing is the team."

Chelsea travel to West London rivals Fulham tonight in an attempt to close the gap on third-placed Arsenal.
