Chelsea defender Reece James is set to spend the next two months on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem, according to a report.

Chelsea defender Reece James is reportedly expected to spend the next two months on the sidelines due to the hamstring problem that he picked up against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The England international limped out of Wednesday's 1-1 draw with the Seagulls, having suffered a torn hamstring.

According to the Daily Mail, the right-back does not need to undergo surgery on the issue, but he will be out of action for the next two months due to the severity of the problem.

The report claims that examinations on Friday revealed the extent of the damage, with the defender facing an uphill battle to return to the field before March.

James has been a key player for Chelsea during the 2021-22 campaign, making 23 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and six assists in the process.

The 22-year-old has excelled in the Premier League this season, meanwhile, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 16 appearances.
