Chelsea lose their Champions League group stage match 2-1 against Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

Chelsea have not yet secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League after a 2-1 defeat away at Bayer Leverkusen.

The visitors had the best chance of the first half, but Didier Drogba could only shoot over after he had rounded the goalkeeper.

The Ivorian did get on the scoresheet three minutes after the interval when he struck home in the box after good work from Daniel Sturridge.

The German side levelled the match with 20 minutes to go when substitute Eren Derdiyok headed into the net with his first touch of the ball.

The Blues could have had a penalty five minutes later, but the referee waved away the appeals after Drogba was felled in the area by Lars Bender.

Drogba was in the thick of the action minutes later, but his volley flew inches wide of the post.

The hosts grabbed the winner in the 91st minute when Manuel Friedrich struck to send Leverkusen through to the next stage of the competition.

Andre Villas-Boas' side will now face Valencia on Tuesday, December 6 to determine who enters the next round.
