Romelu Lukaku hits out at Andre Villas-Boas for leaving him out of the European squad before he was sacked from Chelsea earlier this year.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has admitted that he didn't feel deserving of a Champions League winners medal after former boss Andre Villas-Boas left him out of the 25-man European squad earlier this year.

The 19-year-old witnessed his side pick up the coveted trophy after beating Bayern Munich on penalties on Saturday.

"I didn't deserve it," Lukaku told Het Nieuwsblad. "I would find it difficult to accept the medal. Maybe it's something for next year. I've not even touched the cup. I don't deserve it because I was not on the list. I don't touch anything I don't deserve.

"It's more than [Villas-Boas's European snub]. It was also the way he talked to me and how he handled me. He was like that from the start. It was very strange. I can't take it when you act like that with me. He never told me why."

Reports have claimed that the Belgian forward may seek a loan move from Stamford Bridge after failing to break into the first team following his switch from Anderlecht last summer.
