Andre Villas-Boas: Congratulations to Chelsea

Andre Villas-Boas congratulates former club Chelsea on their historic Champions League win over Bayern Munich.

Andre Villas-Boas has congratulated former club Chelsea for Saturday's Champions League triumph.

The Blues clinched the title for the first time in their history with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Villas-Boas, who was sacked as manager in March after only eight months in charge, praised former assistant Roberto Di Matteo and the squad for their efforts.

"The biggest honour is to win the Champions League. Congratulations to Di Matteo and the players," he told RTP.

The Portuguese coach has been linked with a number of roles since he was dismissed at Stamford Bridge, including the Liverpool vacancy.
