Frank Lampard has hailed Didier Drogba following Chelsea's Champions League win over Bayern Munich on Saturday night.

After Thomas Muller's late goal in normal time looked to have won it for the Germans, Drogba struck in the dying moments to take the game to extra time.

With the sides unable to be separated after an additional 30 minutes, Drogba converted the decisive penalty to clinch the famous trophy.

"Our main man Didier Drogba has dug us out there," Lampard told Sky Sports News. "He is a hero. Without him we are not here. He scores the goals in the big games."

It is the first time that the Blues have ever won the competition.
