Russell Slade has reportedly opened talks with Charlton Athletic regarding the vacant managerial position at The Valley.
On Friday, Cardiff City announced that Slade had left his position as head of football, just weeks after he had taken on the role after being replaced in the dugout by Paul Trollope.
However, according to Sky Sports News, it appears that the 55-year-old has opened discussions with Charlton as they look for a replacement for Jose Riga, who resigned after the Addicks were relegated to League One.
Charlton had previously been in talks with Chris Wilder before the Northampton Town boss moved to fellow third-tier side Sheffield United.
