Nick Pope expresses his delight following his recent debut between the posts for Charlton Athletic.

Young goalkeeper Nick Pope has described making his debut last weekend for Charlton Athletic as "unbelievable".

The 21-year-old was required for the final 19 minutes of their Championship encounter against Bristol City after David Button had suffered an injury from a heavy fall.

"It's an unbelievable feeling. Two years ago I was in playing in non-league not really going anywhere in my football and ready to go to university," he told the club's official website.

"Now to come to this two years after signing, I've come so far. I'm delighted to end the season this way."

Pope, who joined the Addicks from Ryman Premier Division side Bury Town in 2011, spent part of the year on loan with Cambridge United.
