Young goalkeeper Nick Pope commits his future to Charlton Athletic by signing a new contract at the Valley.

Young goalkeeper Nick Pope has signed a new contract with League One leaders Charlton Athletic.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Addicks from non-league Bury Town last summer, has committed himself to the club until 2014.

"We are extremely happy Nick has signed his new deal," manager Chris Powell told the club website.

"My staff and goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts have been delighted by his development in the short time he has been here and we look forward to him making further progress.

"He's already a popular player within the squad and is clearly benefiting from the day-to-day training."

Pope has had loan spells with Harrow Borough and Welling United this season.
