Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has lavished praise on Jonny Hayes after the club's new signing came off the bench to win a penalty in Saturday's 1-1 pre-season draw with Rapid Vienna.
Hayes, who joined the Hoops from Aberdeen earlier this summer, was a second-half substitute during the friendly, and won the spot kick that Moussa Dembele converted to level the scores.
"That's what Jonny can do," Rodgers told Celtic's official website. "He has that ability to go inside and outside and I thought he was excellent when he came on.
"I like players with that very fast profile in the wide areas as he can go from one end of the pitch to the other very quickly. He made an incredible run from deep to get onto the ball and then go and create the penalty. He looked a real threat and he worked hard defensively. He's always an outlet with his quality."
Hayes scored nine times in 32 Scottish Premiership appearances for Aberdeen last season.
