Ally McCoist says Rangers still have "everything to play for" after their 1-0 loss to Celtic on Wednesday.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has insisted that there is no need to panic following the club's 1-0 loss to Celtic on Wednesday evening.

The Hoops' victory moves Neil Lennon's side to the top of the Scottish League, but McCoist has stated that the league is still all to play for.

"It's a big disappointment, of that there is no doubt ... I did say before the game that whoever won the game, that doesn't necessarily win you the league. Having said that, I would rather have won it," McCoist told Sky Sports News.

"There are still two points in it and we have got absolutely everything to play for. The effort we put in today was pleasing and encouraging. We can do better when we've got the ball and we can play much better. There is a long way to go."

The defeat means that Rangers enter the New Year two points behind SPL leaders Celtic.
