Burnley boss Sean Dyche suggests that qualifying for the Europa League would not change the club's approach in the transfer market.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has warned the team's supporters not to expect a number of big-money signings should the club qualify for the Europa League.

The Clarets currently possess one of the smallest wage budgets in the Premier League, but the North-West side are on course to finish in seventh position in the top flight and could earn a place in Europe next season.

However, Dyche has suggested that the club's transfer policy will not change ahead of the new campaign in August, regardless of whether they secure a place in a new competition.

The 46-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's hard for us to buy 'the one' who can walk straight into our team. We have to look at a high level of development player - not necessarily someone for £100,000 to turn into a world beater - but the kind of market for us is a few million quid.

"We can't jump to £25m for people, five times over, we've got to look not just for the next six months but the six months after that, 18 months, 24 months, and that is tough.

"You have to keep looking and future proofing, getting the players in we think we can mould for the future. Some of the ones we bought in the past, people said 'why are they bringing them in?' and they're the ones who are now coming of age."

Burnley require five points from their remaining four fixtures to guaranteed a seventh-placed finish.
