Borussia Dortmund seal surprise move for Ex-Sunderland striker Ji Dong-Won

Former Sunderland outcast Ji Dong-Won will sign for Borussia Dortmund after a stint at Augsburg lasting until the end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund have announced the surprise capture of former Sunderland striker Ji Dong-Won.

The Black Cats confirmed yesterday that the South Korean international will join Augsburg on a deal lasting until the end of the season.

Once his contract expires in June, the forward will move to the Bundesliga to play for last season's Champions League finalists.

"Ji Dong-Won is a player who can play in a variety of positions in attack," Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc told the club's official website. "We are pleased to have signed this talented player for next season on a free transfer."

Ji made just 24 Premier League appearances for Sunderland over three years.
