A solitary Jordan Rhodes strike is enough for Blackburn Rovers to see off Huddersfield Town at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers have held on for a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in this evening's Championship clash at Ewood Park.

The home side made a strong start, but for all their early pressure they did not create any clear-cut scoring opportunities.

They had to wait until the 37th minute before Jordan Rhodes eventually broke the deadlock.

David Jones's deep corner was headed back across goal by Scott Dann and the Scottish international finished smartly from close range.

Rovers deservedly led at half time and carried on from where they left off when the game resumed in the second half.

Any real opportunities were still few and far between, although Alex Smithies was called upon to deny Leon Best on the half-volley.

The visitors then started to go forward as they saw more of the ball and Grzegorz Sandomierski was twice called into action by Jermaine Beckford.

However, the home side were able to hang on and secure all three points.
