Andre Marriner is reportedly axed from this weekend's Premier League fixtures after allowing Blackburn's controversial goal against Wigan on Saturday.

Premier League referee Andre Marriner has been excluded from this weekend's matches after allowing a controversial Blackburn Rovers goal against Wigan Athletic on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

The official let Rovers' goal stand after Morten Gamst Pedersen dribbled the ball from the corner flag to set up David Holiet to score, despite Yakubu not touching the ball to initiate the corner kick.

The eventful match finished 3-3 at the DW Stadium, to the dismay of Wigan boss Roberto Martinez.

Both sides remain in the relegation zone of the table.
