Birmingham City draw with 10-man Nottingham Forest

Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest settle for a point apiece in their Championship clash at St Andrew's.

Birmingham City and 10-man Nottingham Forest earned a point apiece from their goalless draw at St Andrew's in their Championship clash.

Lee Clark's side came close to taking the lead but were denied by a brilliant save from Karl Darlow, who somehow managed to get his fingertips to Tom Adeyemi's low effort and turn it past the post.

Adeyemi came close again for the hosts after a miscued punch from Darlow as his looped header went over everyone around the goal, but it landed on the roof of the net.

Darlow made up for his near error as he kept his side in the game again with two excellent saves, first to deny a close-range header from Kyle Bartley and then to tip an effort from Chris Burke over the bar.

After the break, Forest came close to breaking the deadlock as Andy Reid raided down the left and crossed to find Greg Halford at the back post who headed the ball at goal, but Nikola Zigic was there on the line to clear it away.

Both sides struggled to muster chances throughout the second half as they were disappointing in the final third of the pitch, with every cross seeming to hit the hands of the keepers.

Henri Lansbury decided to challenge this as he nodded the ball out of Darren Randolph's grasp and put it into the net but it was disallowed.

Forest were then reduced to 10 men when substitute Darius Henderson was sent off just minutes after entering the game for an altercation with Paul Robinson.

Neither side could force a winner, although Adeyemi went close with a header in the dying seconds that went wide of the post.
