Terry McDermott, Derek Fazackerley leave Birmingham City

Lee Clark confirms that Terry McDermott and Derek Fazackerley have left Birmingham City.

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has confirmed that assistant manager Terry McDermott and first-team coach Derek Fazackerley have left the club.

Reports this week suggested that the pair, who joined Clark at St Andrew's in June 2012, had been sacked by the Championship outfit.

However, Clark has insisted that neither has been relieved of his duties.

"What I can strongly say is that nobody has been sacked," Clark told BBC WM.

"We had a discussion at the weekend, a debrief of the game with players and staff. As I said, no one has been sacked. We had a discussion. And, as you know in employment, once that happens, it has to go down the legal route and that is where we are at the moment.

"For legal reasons I can't divulge much more - we are discussions with the two guys."

Steve Watson, Richard Beale and John Vaughan will join Clark in the dugout for Saturday's match against Blackpool.
