Newly-promoted Arouca welcome fellow newcomers Estoril Praia to the Estadio Municipal de Arouca for their Primeira Liga season-opener on Saturday.

The away side secured promotion into the top tier after winning last campaign's Segunda Liga, while the hosts finished third and had to take the long route via the playoffs.

We say: Arouca 1-1 Estoril Praia

Saturday's opponents know a lot about each other having gone head-to-head quite a number of times in recent years. In what should be a cagey affair, we fancy a share of the spoils with the sides settling for a point apiece in the end.

Benfica get their 2021-22 Primeira Liga campaign underway with a clash against Moreirense at the Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on Saturday.

The away side will once again be expected to battle with Porto and defending champions Sporting Lisbon for the title, while the hosts should be in contention for a European spot after narrowly missing out last term.

Benfica have made it a habit of flying out of the blocks in recent seasons and will be fired up for this one as they go in search of yet another league crown. We are backing them to claim an emphatic victory, scoring plenty of goals en route.

Maritimo vs. Braga (Saturday, 8.30pm)

Maritimo raise the curtain on their 2021/22 Primeira Liga campaign when they welcome Braga to the Estadio dos Barreiros on Saturday.

The home side escaped relegation last term by the skin of their teeth and go in search of a positive start to avoid a similar fate this time around.

Braga have enjoyed huge success in this fixture and are huge favourites to secure all three points going into Saturday's contest. While we expect Maritimo to give them a run for their money, we are tipping the away side to emerge victorious come the full-time whistle.
