Bayern Munich rubbish connections to Sami Khedira after reports previously suggested that Bayern asked Khedira to run down his contract with Madrid.

Bayern Munich have rubbished speculation of their interest in German international Sami Khedira.

Earlier reports suggested that the German champions asked Khedira to run down his contract at Real Madrid.

The midfielder only has a year left on his current contract with the Champions League winners but Bayern's CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told reporters that the rumours are "a myth".

Khedira had a successful campaign last season after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid and then going on to secure the FIFA World Cup with Germany in the summer.
