Barcelona economic vice-president Javier Faus has claimed that there is "no reason" to negotiate a new contract with Lionel Messi.
The Argentine penned a new deal just six months ago, but it has been suggested that the attacker is already looking for improved terms due to Cristiano Ronaldo's deal at Real Madrid.
However, Faus has quelled claims that a new offer is being prepared for Messi, who is currently on the sidelines with a thigh injury.
"I see no reason to improve the contract again of a player who six months ago just had it improved. "hile Sandro Rosell is president at the club, there is zero chance of selling him," Faus told RAC 1.
Messi will not return to action until 2014.
