Dani Alves says that he still intends to be a Barcelona player next season.

Barcelona wing-back Dani Alves has refuted speculation that he will leave the Nou Camp this summer.

The Brazilian has been the subject of interest from Manchester City and Spanish football correspondent Guillem Balague revealed that the Catalan club are ready to sell the defender.

Alves, who has lost his place in the team recently, has now stated that he is happy at Barca and would like to remain at the club next season.

"I intend to be here next year, that's why I renewed my contract," said the 28-year-old. "If I had not been comfortable then I would not have done it."

Alves moved to Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008.
