Xavi Hernandez could miss Barcelona's clash with Granada

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez could miss his side's clash with Granada due to a muscle strain.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez is expected to miss his side's La Liga clash with Granada this weekend having suffered a leg injury.

Barca's playmaker was left out of the Spain squad that travelled to face South Africa on Tuesday evening in order for his injury to be evaluated.

However, tests from club doctors have now revealed that the midfielder has a muscle strain to his left hamstring.

A statement from Barcelona's official club website has stated that the player's condition will be monitored and Xavi's availability for the weekend's clash assessed accordingly.

Barcelona are currently top of La Liga on 37 points.
