Martin Montoya wants first-team football

Martin Montoya admits that he is looking to play more first-team football next season.

Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya has revealed that his target for the 2013-14 season is to push Dani Alves for a place in the first team.

Montoya, who was part of the Spain Under-21 side that won the European Championship, said that it is time for him to make the step up to the full Barca team.

"This season I expect to be fighting for a place in the side with Dani," Montoya told Sport.es.

"I'm very happy with how I played last season and now I am hoping to play more regularly."

Montoya has made 24 La Liga appearances since graduating to the first team in 2011.
