Miranda: 'Perfect way to win it'

Atletico Madrid defender Miranda praises his side following their La Liga title win.

Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has claimed that winning the La Liga title at Barcelona was how the capital outfit "would've liked to" claim the crown.

The 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou ensured that Atletico topped the division and picked up their first league trophy in little under 20 years, when boss Diego Simeone was a player for the capital outfit.

"Now it's time to celebrate. We and our fans had a brilliant campaign. We deserve to enjoy it," Inside Spanish Football quotes Miranda as saying.

"This is how we would've liked to win La Liga. It's difficult to win a league that has Real Madrid and Barcelona, but we think we deserved it from the beginning."

Atletico face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend.
