Andres Iniesta admits that being chosen as Uefa's Best Player is a "memorable" achievement that he wants to share with the Barcelona supporters.

Barcelona schemer Andres Iniesta has admitted that winning the Uefa Best Player award is a memorable achievement.

Iniesta was given the prize following the group stage draw for the Champions League at a ceremony in Monaco on Friday, beating nominees Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to claim the title.

The 28-year-old displayed the award at the Nou Camp before Sunday's match against Valencia, and said that he wanted to share the accolade with the Catalan crowd.

He said: "It is another moment to remember. The fans have seen me grow here for a long time and I have a very special affection for them.

"But it is now in the past. We have to continue in this fashion. The most important thing is to be there for this type of prize. It is a prize for all the players who have always been there."

Iniesta came off the bench as Barcelona continued their 100% start to the La Liga season with a 1-0 win against Valencia, thanks to a stunning goal from Adriano.
