Former Barcelona midfielder Luis Enrique says that Pep Guardiola must continue at the helm of the club.

Former Barcelona midfielder Luis Enrique has expressed his desire for Pep Guardiola to continue as the Catalan's boss next season.

The two played together at Barcelona between 1996 and 2001, and Enrique has admitted that the Catalan boss "carries the spirit of Barca".

"The future of Guardiola? I want him to continue for himself and for the club. He's very smart, is Catalan and carries the spirit of Barca inside, but has yet to decide on his future and clearly express it," Enrique told Sport.es.

Barcelona sit ten points behind Real Madrid in the race for the La Liga title.
