Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has admitted that it felt "wonderful" to break Raul's Champions League goals record in the 4-0 victory over APOEL on Tuesday.
The Argentine needed just one goal to edge past Raul's tally of 72, but he managed to find the net three times to set another record just days after setting a new goalscoring record in La Liga.
"Achieving this record in a competition like this is a wonderful thing," Messi told reporters. "But, beyond that, it was a very important game. We were able to get the three points and that's what really matters.
"We must continue as we are, meet the objectives of the beginning of the year and try to stay on this path."
Barcelona remain second in Group F due to Paris Saint-Germain's 3-1 win over Ajax.
