Spanish midfielder Mario Suarez has joined Fiorentina as part of the deal that took Stefan Savic to the Vicente Calderon.
Earlier this week, Savic revealed that Suarez was moving in the opposite direction as part of his own transfer, but the move was not mentioned when Atletico announced the capture of the Montenegro international.
Suarez's transfer to Serie A has now been confirmed, however, with the Spanish international signing a long-term deal with the Viola.
"The agreement between the clubs and the player is complete and will be formalised in the next hours. The player from the ranks will play in the Serie A after wearing the red and white the last five seasons. The club wishes the player the best of luck in this new phase of his career," read a statement on Atletico's official website.
Suarez made 34 appearances for Atletico in all competitions last season.
