Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has claimed that the capital outfit have 'one of their best squads' in recent times.

It has been a busy transfer window for Atletico, with the likes of Jackson Martinez, Luciano Vietto and Stefan Savic all making the move to the Vicente Calderon.

Filipe Luis has also returned from Chelsea, and Koke believes that his team now have 'good variation' in the camp.

"We've got a great squad. We've strengthened well. I think we have one of the best squads of recent times and now we only have to work," Koke told Marca.

"The good thing is the variations we have. We can pass the ball more or have people who work hard ."

Atletico opened their new La Liga season with a 1-0 win over Las Palmas at the weekend.
