Ernesto Valverde already looking to new season

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde wants his side to "repeat" their success from the 2013-14 campaign next season.

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde has called on his side to "repeat" their success from the 2013-14 campaign next season.

The Spaniard led Bilbao to a fourth-placed finish in La Liga last term, with the Basque outfit eventually finishing seven points clear of fifth-placed Sevilla.

"There's a habit of thinking that when you win it's always easy, but winning like we have done this year is exceptional and must be taken into account," Inside Spanish Football quotes Valverde as saying.

"Hopefully we can repeat it. It will be very difficult, but we'll try. The expectation will be very high after an extraordinary season. The challenge is not to win, but to win again."

Bilbao won 20 of their 38 league games last term, losing just eight times in the process.
