Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar feels that his side should have got something from their clash with Chelsea at Villa Park.

Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar feels that his side deserved to get at least a point from their clash with Chelsea.

Frank Lampard scored twice in the second half cancelling out Christian Benteke's first-half strike to all but secure Champions League football for the Blues next season with the win at Villa Park.

Vlaar told reporters: "In the last few months we have only lost against top-six teams and beaten all the teams around us.

"If you look through the season, the confidence is a lot better. The way we play is better. We were right on top at one stage during the Chelsea game. We definitely deserved some points."

Villa are 16th in the Premier League and are five points clear of 18th-placed Wigan Athletic, who have two games to play this season.
