Tim Sherwood backs Tom Cleverley to score 10 goals next season

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood believes that Tom Cleverley has the potential to reach double figures in goals next season.

Tim Sherwood has claimed that Tom Cleverley can score more than 10 goals next season if Aston Villa manage to secure a permanent move for the midfielder.

Saturday's FA Cup final against Arsenal is the final game of Cleverley's loan spell from Manchester United, but Villa are in pole position to sign the 25-year-old as he prepares to become a free agent.

"I want the club to talk to his representatives and I want him to stay at Villa," Sherwood told reporters.

"He can score goals and I believe that he can score 10 goals next season."

Cleverley is also reported to be attracting interest from Everton.
