Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has called for patience ahead of his side's clash with Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The team were jeered after Wednesday's Carling Cup defeat to Bolton Wanderers at Villa Park, and McLeish has been quick to calm any discontent.
"Is the club in transition? I don't think there is any doubt about that when you see the players that have left," said the Scot.
"Randy Lerner is definitely trying to reduce the wages. We've been open about that, just like other clubs have.
"We've got to be patient. There has got to be patience."
Villa are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table, while QPR occupy ninth place.
