Rudy Gestede: 'Amazing Aston Villa fans deserved victory over Bournemouth'

Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede says that the club's "amazing" travelling supporters deserved victory against Bournemouth.

Aston Villa's new signing Rudy Gestede has insisted that the travelling supporters deserved all three points from Saturday's Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Midlands outfit from Blackburn Rovers last month, scored the only goal in the weekend's fixture at the Vitality Stadium.

"It was an amazing feeling to celebrate with the fans," Gestede told AVTV. "They came in big numbers to support us. They made a lot of noise. It was very loud.

"I thank them because they helped me a lot when I came on the pitch - they created a big atmosphere. They deserved the win."

The team's next game is against Manchester United at Villa Park this Friday.
